THE GODDARDS OF KIRKBY MALLORY

The earliest mention of the Goddard family living in Kirkby Mallory

is to be found in the Rent Roll tax return for the Manor dated 1696 where a John Goddard paid £24 to the estate. Thirty one other names were mentioned in that document. Typical charges being .....John Spencer £22,    John Cooper £12,   For the Water and Windmills £22.    etc. etc.
