Initaly after their marriage, in about 1868 Fred and Emma lived for a while in Worcester. But two years later 1870 they were offered accomadation and employment in Sutton Cheney, Leicestershire, where they were to stay for about 15 years.

However the 1901 census indicates that by then the family had grown and had moved again to Osbaston, a village few miles away, but still in the district of Market Bosworth. Ref.(1981, 1991 and 1901) census returns)
